Apollo 11 Space Craft "Columbia"

16 Temmuz 1969 tarihinde saat sabah 9.32’de fırlatılan devasa “Saturn V” roketi insanlık tarihinin en önemli seyahatine çıktı. Apollo uzay aracı içinde bulunan 3 Astronotun Ay’dan Dünya’ya dönüs modülü olarak kullanılmıstır. 2 Ana parçadan olusan uzay aracının ön bölümünde  Astronotların konakladıgı kumanda ve inis kapsülü yer alırken arka bölümde (servis modülü) oksijen ve itis güç üniteleri yer almaktaydı. Dünya atmosferine girdikten kısa bir süre sonra ikiye ayrılan uzay aracı Astronotların içinde bulundugu inis kapsülüyle Pasifik okyanusuna inis yapmıstır. 
 
 
On July 16, 1969, at 9:32 a.m., the gigantic Saturn V was launched from Cape Canaveral, the most important journey in the history of mankind. The Apollo spacecraft with which the astronauts were transported to the moon consists of 2 components, the command capsule and the service module. The command capsule contained the Accommodation/cockpit area for the 3 astronauts. The oxygen and power supply were provided from the service module, which also contained the main propulsion unit. Only a few minutes before entering into the Earth's atmosphere, the command module was separated from the service module. Only the command module returned to Earth and landed safely in the Pacific Ocean suspended from parachutes.
